KAROLE HAYCOCK PITTMAN
MSc, AFC
Painter

Karole came to Gros Morne as a park interpreter. Familiarity has not bred contempt and after four decades, the area still provides alluring subject matter.

Karole attended Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and enjoys learning from other artists. Her father, Maurice Haycock, coached her in oils from age seven, and took her on adventurous painting trips in the Arctic.

Karole is fascinated by colour, light and shadow, the transparency of water, textures, wind and tide. She loves painting outdoors, immersed in the wind, scents, songs and rhythms of nature.

Representation: Ewing Gallery, Corner Brook; Java Jack’s Restaurant/Gallery, Rocky Harbour. In government collections of Newfoundland & Labrador, British Columbia, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories; in corporate/private collections in Canada, USA, Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
