Congratulations to LAWN's Hilary Rice! Hilary is a textile and mixed media artist and her submission "The Go Between" earned the viewer's choice award at the Grand National Quilt Show in Kitchener, Ontario. The show is a juried invitational exhibition meant to celebrate the innovations and traditions of the art of quilting.

The Corner Brook resident has been submitting work to the exhibition for the past five years and this year's project was a collaborative effort between herself and her husband, Dean Micheal Rice.

Work on the project was divied so that Rice created the three textile panels which make up the piece, while her husband created a hinged oak framework to form a room divider that holds the panels.

Rice has a new exhibition at the Sir Wilfred Grenfell College Art Galelry this summer and "The Go Between" will be on display during the Long Range Quilters show from October 22-24, 2010 at the Pepsi Centre.
